Mycopunk Bruiser guide

Checked 2026-10-23. Patch context 2.0.2.

Bruiser combines a hard-light shield with an aerial slam, according to the class wiki. Those tools suggest a defensive playstyle, but no comparative survivability benchmark is available here.

The kit I can source

The class wiki lists a hard-light shield and an aerial slam. Build threads name Optical Attraction and Launch Reserves. I do not have a measured shield number for patch 2.0.2, so I am not printing one.

The 2.0.2 notes I scanned call out Mycologist, Glider, and Carver. They do not call out Bruiser. That only means I did not see a named change. It does not mean the shield is untouched forever.

Where Bruiser fits a squad

The shield gives Bruiser a defensive tool, not a documented substitute for revival. The historical Glider guide describes self-healing for Glider when rockets hit allies; it does not establish a Bruiser healing role.

If the fantasy you wanted was a grapple and a jetpack, that is Scrapper. The two get merged in character-tier searches. They are different movement.

FAQ

Is Bruiser the tank?

The kit is a hard-light shield and a slam. Players treat that as the front line. There is no official tank label.

Which Bruiser upgrades are named?

Optical Attraction and Launch Reserves show up in build notes.

Did 2.0.2 change Bruiser?

I did not find a Bruiser-specific line in that note.
