The reviewed sources do not identify a rarity named corrupted. For Ouroboros loot, use the current item tag and Cleanse UI: that mode starts with a fresh upgrade loadout, and only eligible upgrades can be retained.

The words the game actually uses

Ouroboros arrived 17 Dec 2025 as a roguelike mode inside a game that is otherwise a mission looter. Oddity is another tag. Contraband is the rarity that normally cannot be taken out. If a video says corrupted, ask which tag is on the icon.

Official patch 1.6.6 states that upgrades taken home through Cleanse now unlock automatically. This removes a later unlock step; it does not mean Cleanse itself has no cost. Check the current UI for eligible upgrades and the current Cleanse price.

Open the Cleanse UI to check which upgrades qualify before choosing to leave. A historical guide may not cover later patches; its item list is not a current eligibility guarantee.

Paid Time Off is a separate free-roam activity, not the ordinary contract exit or the Ouroboros leave vote. Do not transfer one activity’s loot-retention rules to another.

How do you keep corrupted items?

Can you take Contraband out?

Contraband usually cannot leave the mode. The permit’s temporary Contraband Gats are a separate item.

Check the current Cleanse UI for its currency and cost. Patch 1.6.6 confirms automatic unlocking after taking an upgrade home, not free Cleanse.
